I’ve seen a few users report that their Dell computers (Alienware too!) have been crashing with a blue screen of death saying “Dellinstrumentation.sys” on Windows 10 64-bit

Upon researching online I believe I’ve found a fix that prevents the BSOD from happening again.

It's a very simple fix which you can sort yourself by following the below:

  • Right click the start button and click “device manager”

Opening the Device Manager

Opening the Device Manager

  • Find Dellinstrumentation and expand

  • Right click on dellinstrumentation device and click “uninstall device”

  • Also tick “attempt to remove the device driver”

Uninstalling the Dellinstrumentation

Hopefully this should resolve the issue, if you can’t get into Windows and do all this in time, try to boot in Safe mode! You can find more info here : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234

This should resolve the blue screen of death caused by Dellinstrumentation.sys in Windows 10 on Dell computers!
